Annual Show
The Club's annual show was held Thanksgiving weekend and the two following
weekends in December. Phil Monat provided a new show tape and worked out the new
lighting schemes. Most members and visitors remarked that it was a nice change from
the old show program.
During the first weekend of the show a few kinks were still being worked out. Most
members were hearing the show tape for the first time on Friday at 4:00PM with the first
show only three hours away. Many where also working with DCC for the first time.
Needless to say, it took a couple of shows before we all got our bearings.
The Trenton Northern's computer decided to solve its Y2K problem during the second weekend
of the show by committing suicide. Cannibalized parts from the three TRS-80
computers lying around and some quick thinking by a few members resurrected the dead and
got the TN back working.
By the third weekend, most things where working smoothly. The only thing that seemed
tired and broken down was the membership, many of whom worked for three weekends straight.
Praise to all that showed up and helped. Ultimately, fun was had by all.
New Building Update
Right up until show time work was progressing on the addition, with the thought that we would be officially open for the show. The reality check came when it became apparent that the sprinkler system would not be completed on tome. With the exception of the sprinkler system and some final adjustments to the ADA ramp the building is essentially done. Current thoughts are to complete the rough benchwork in the addition before seeking a final certificate of occupancy.
