DIRECTIONS:
The Club is off the Eastbound side of US Route 22 in Union behind Home Depot and a shopping center.  Signs for The Model Railroad Club are present.  Turn right off Route 22 onto Jefferson Ave, the first of three US Route 22 entrances to the shopping center. There is a large Home Depot sign on the corner.  At the stop sign, turn right onto the parking lot road.   Click here for an aerial view of the shopping center with a highlight of the Club location.

Follow the road around the parking lot and past the Home Depot garden center.  When the parking lot road turns left behind Home Depot, continue straight.  The road becomes the driveway for township facilities and The Model Railroad Club.  Continue on the driveway as it turns left behind the Home Depot and enter the Club parking lot.  We are a white aluminum sided building, sort of looks like a barn from the end-view.  See picture by clicking below.  There is a nominal Saturday admission fee that can be defined for you by calling the Club.

A. Rt. 22 Westbound:
After the highway divides in Union, continue in the left lane past the Boston Market and Wendy's. Take U-turn H to get onto the eastbound lanes of Rt. 22, across from the  Target Store. Go East on 22 1/4 mile turn right onto Jefferson Ave.  As you turn onto Jefferson Ave follow the directions at the top of this page.

B. Rt. 22 Eastbound:
After the highway divides in Springfield (at the 7-11), move into the right lane. Turn right onto Jefferson Ave. about 1/4 mile past the Target Store.  As you turn onto Jefferson Ave follow the directions at the top of this page.

C. Parkway Northbound:
Use exit 140, Follow signs for Route 22 Westbound. Immediately get into the LEFT lane and follow the exit for 82 West / Parkway South (do not use exit 139b).  On the sign post at the start of the exit (post is on your right) you'll see a sign for Rt. 22 West.  After the merge at the end of the ramp move one lane to your right and follow directions A above.

D. Parkway Southbound:
Use exit 140A, stay on Route 22 Westbound. Follow directions A above.

E. NYC Area:
Take U.S. 1-9 South to Newark, or N.J. Turnpike South to exit 14. Follow signs to Route 22 Westbound. Follow directions A above.

F. Turnpike Northbound:
Use exit 11, take Parkway North. Follow directions C above.

G. Outerbridge Crossing (Route 440):
Follow signs to Parkway North. Follow directions C above.

H. Goethals Bridge (Route 278):
 Take Route 439 (Bayway/Elmore/North Aves.) about 3 miles to light at intersection of Morris Ave (N.J. 82). Turn left onto Morris Ave. Continue toward Union about 2 miles to Route 22. Follow signs to Route 22 Westbound. Follow directions A above.

I. George Washington Bridge:
Take I-80 West to Garden State Parkway South. Follow directions D above.

Please note that due to the abandonment of Jefferson Ave. (which was required to build the shopping center,) the maps will get you close to 295 Jefferson Ave.  The maps do not show the "new" shopping center.  We are located behind the Home Depot (Union #2) at the right end of the row of stores.  Please go around the back of Home Depot, past the Nursery Dept., past the Police shooting range and the Township Animal Shelter, to find us at 295 Jefferson Ave.  You'll be glad you did.  See you soon!
